Bombing of Darwin commemorative ceremony
On this day, 83 years ago, Darwin faced a devastating attack - the first of at least 64 air raids on the Top End, which continued for 18 months until November 1943. The Bombing of Darwin left hundreds of servicemen and civilians dead, with countless others injured.
The Bombing of Darwin commemorative ceremony at the Darwin Cenotaph was a time for reflection, and a chance to honour the servicemen, servicewomen, and civilians who defended our country, those who selflessly helped others, those who endured the aftermath, and those who tragically lost their lives.
Good Shepherd Lutheran College Captains from all campuses, along with staff, attended the event to pay tribute to those affected by the attacks. As a mark of respect and remembrance, our captains laid wreaths on behalf of the College.
Good Shepherd Lutheran College is proud to participate in this annual event, ensuring that the sacrifices of the past are never forgotten.
