Turnitin logo

Turnitin

Turnitin is a web-based service that checks your writing for plagiarism. It compares your essay to other sources, such as websites, articles, books, and student work, and generates a similarity report that highlights passages of matching text. Turnitin can help you avoid citation mistakes, identify occurrences of plagiarism, and revise your paper accordingly. Any student work uploaded via SEQTA will automatically be run through Turnitin, however students may pre-run their work through Turnitin themselves before submitting via SEQTA if they would like. Please note that students will need to create their own account to do this.

Have you heard about our Junior School Literacy Program?

All three Good Shepherd Junior Schools have adopted the Jocelyn Seamer Structured Literacy program. The program has one mission – to make teaching literacy in a structured way simple, efficient and successful. Jocelyn is working with our teachers to:

  • Clarify what they can expect in their journey towards structured literacy.
  • Clear up misconceptions about explicit teaching and differentiation.
  • Gain a greater understanding of evidence informed writing instruction.
  • Learn about the factors that influence reading comprehension.
  • Clarify their thinking around creating a structured, connected literacy block.

More information can be found on Jocelyn's website here.
