Introducing Good Shepherd's New Wellbeing & Curriculum Coordinator

"Hi, I’m Kylie Hanton, and I’m the Wellbeing and Curriculum Coordinator at Good Shepherd’s Howard Springs Junior Campus. This year will my 15th year at the College and during that time, I have had a variety of roles in both the Middle and Junior Schools. I started in the Middle School teaching Year 6, 7, 8 and 9. In 2018 I embraced my creative side and took on the role of Junior School Art teacher for a semester, before moving into Year 1.

I am a mum to 3 energetic children aged 11, 8 and 3. This year, my youngest starts his education journey at Good Shepherd in the ELC, while my eldest begins his Middle School journey. There are many reasons why my husband and I chose Good Shepherd for our children, but above all it was the overarching Christian values of the College and its heart of grace.

Both my husband and I are born and bred Darwinites and love the Darwin lifestyle. We love rural living and spending time outdoors as a family.

Over the years I have seen the College grow, embrace challenges and adapt to the ever changing nature of education. However, the one thing that has always remained the same is the dedication and commitment that is shown to each of the students, and their families. It is our heart of grace and commitment to student wellbeing that makes the College so unique.

As Curriculum and Wellbeing Coordinator, I am excited to work with our teachers and students; continuing to enhance and embed a strong culture of positive wellbeing within our Junior School."
